This fish is an amazingly beautiful cichlid from the Congo. This fish looks similar to another jewel cichlid which has the scientific name, Hemichromis lifalili. H. lifalili is redder in its coloration and does not share the gold band that appears on the lower portion of H. sp. “Monada” during its breeding coloration.
